If you have been following our blog recently, you probably know that we’ve been working on the Melbits POD, a new mixed-reality toy that will allow you to hatch your own tribe of Melbits and it will be available in an upcoming Kickstarter campaign that will take place soon.
If you don’t want to wait for that crowdfunding campaign, we’re also getting everything ready to create a first batch of handcrafted PODs for those who join the Melbits Maker Early Access Program. Through this Early Access, you’ll be able to get access to a POD for a reduced price and participate directly with Melbot in this project. If you wouldn’t like to miss the opportunity to hatch your own Melbits before anyone, join the Melbits Club and you’ll receive an invitation directly to your inbox when the Early Access becomes available.
Meanwhile, we’re using our current Melbits POD prototype to attend different events and present to the public this digital toy designed to spark kids’ imagination and creativity.
One of those events that we recently attended was the IndieMAD. An event with the noble intention to “praise the indie” and originally based in Madrid that has also taken place in Malaga and now in Valencia to vindicate as one of the main indie development epicenters in Spain.
IndieMAD - "Praise the Indies"
Arranged by Juanma Moreno, from Nivel Oculto, the IndieMAD Valencia took place last weekend of September in the art and design formative center Barreira. At the event, assistants enjoyed games like Relicta, Classise or Summer in Mara developed by our friends from Chibig.
Melbot participated in the event with a conference to expose the studio track record, since its foundation, as well as our creative and design process with our different toys and games, all of them with the Melbits as a cohesive force.
We shared how Melbits World for PS4 has done so far, our design approach with the Melbits POD and even we even shared some ideas and projects that we’re sketching for the future.
However, the IndieMAD is not the only event that Melbot will attend this last quarter. Another step by on Melbot’s tour will be the 3Dwire, the professional event for animation, games and new media.
So, if you are around Segovia this weekend, pay us a visit and be one of the first to meet and play with the Melbits POD. Also, if you bring your family and friends, you can have a blast playing Melbits World on PS4.
But, we’re not only attending 3DWire, to showcase our current project, but also to seek collaborations and partnerships for new Melbits projects. Don’t worry, if you subscribe to our newsletter, we’ll keep you posted before anyone if any new project arises.
